Spicer Family - Hook Norton
« on: Friday 08 May 09 22:48 BST (UK) »

Hi
I'm trying to find out a bit more info on the Spicer family in Hook Norton in particular Thomas Spicer who married Hannah Phipps on 12 Jun 1785.  I would like his baptism/parent details if that's possible.  I am also trying to connect him to Thomas Spicer b c 1715 Hook Norton who married Mary Prue.  All my information is very vague at present.

Many thanks in advance
Steph

* I cannot find any other family and this Anne could be a mis-spelling for Hannah.
** There is also a burial for a SPICER William, infant for the 28 Aug 1803, ?
*** Will recheck another source to confirm this but again as for *

Your query - Is there any connection to a Thomas SPICER b. ca 1715.

There are no PR's or BT;s for the period 1671 to 1720 so I am unable to check the baptism BUT there was a marriage

12 Jun 1732/3 SPICER, Thomas. also poss. bu. 9 Feb 1812.
PRUE, Mary, also poss. bu. 29 Apr 1800.

Thank you for all the info.  I do have a number of the names but not christening dates etc so you have clarified a number of children.  I made the assumptions that you have made re Thomas Spicer and Mary Prue although I have to remember in my notes that this can be disproved.  It just means its difficult when no records exist.

Again thank you for your time.
