I lived in Rainworth as a child, but am interested in knowing if anyone remembers the area in 1955/56? My grandad lived at Sherwood Industries Settlement and worked as a furniture polisher. He had come over from Sweden a few years earlier, but we know nothing about his life before marriage (he married in 1956), as his identification was destroyed, sadly. Is anyone familiar with the SIS or does anyone know someone who worked/lived there?
