Ivemey of Pembroke
« on: Tuesday 12 May 09 11:50 UTC (UK) »

Could someone help by looking up the 1861 Census Pembrokeshire for the wife of William Devon Ivemey b. 1836?
I would expect chn to be William b. 1858; Elizabeth 1859; Susannah 1861.
Another child  Mary is born in 1868 Chatham, Kent.
Once reference has a William Ivemey marrying Mary Edwards in 1857 Cardith. Another source has his wife as Sussana .......

Thank you very much Mariac. That solves the issue - one wife only and makes the William Charles born in Cardith 1857m as the wrong wife and child.

Much appreciated.

Thank you Mariac, and once again Osprey, you have come to my rescue again with the surname of Sussana.

I might not be able to help like you both do, but this family has little to do with me, except a Charles Ivemey married a widowed Maria Rees, nee Howells, so I was helping out with my available resources or "skills".

there's more!
IGI batch C050341 for Bishops Tawton has these baptisms

Robert Rumbelow c. 22/5/1835 son of John & Susan
Charles Rumbelow 22/5/1835 son of John & Susan
Susannah Rumbelow 17/9/1837 dau of John & Susanna

death reg
John Rumbelow dec qtr 1840 Barnstaple (covers Bishop's Tawton)  vol 10 pg 20

birth reg
William Charles Ivemey june qtr 1857 Cardiff vol 11a pg 238
His birthplace on the 1871 census is Cardiff, not Devon, so you have the right wife & child. Place of birth for both daughters is given as Pembroke Dock

Elizabeth Harriet Ivemey march qtr 1859 Pembroke vol 11a pg 714
Susan Ann Iveny march qtr 1861 Pembroke vol 11a pg 661

Thank you again Osphrey.

I have referred Ian to this site to show how people help out to solve a little "problem" along the way.

Without mentioning names, one lady found me on RootsChat. From having no interest in her husband's ancestry, she made a visit to Haverfordwest with her son last weekend. That's my way of helping out.

Your assistance is always much appreciated,
