Graves R Us - Linthorpe Cemetery

Ecneps and I (maybe even Nutty if she's free  Grin) will be having a little excursion to Linthorpe Cemetery on Wednesday (13th) so if anyone has a grave they would like looked for and photographed please let us know.

It makes it so much easier with a grave number as Linthorpe is a huuuuuge place so if you don't know the grave number please phone Middlesbrough Cemeteries office 01642 817725 with name and date of death.

You can wave at my Sill ancestors while you are there!    I have been and it is enormous!  Even knowing the number it takes time to find them.

We have maps, it's not so bad, we're getting to know our way round quite well now, and I want to have a look at the lovely new sculpture they have there, saw it being put up before the official opening in April.

So, no takers today, pity as it's sunny for a change from the usual wet muddy searches

Well, as madpants says, more time for a nice lunch in the pub!

How far back do the records for plots go. I think I have an ancestor from 1890 there but not sure.
Would love to know if he was buried there+

If your ancestor is in there they'll be able to tell you where if you ring the cemeteries office at Acklam Cem and give them the date of death.  1890 is well within the timeframe for Linthorpe.
