Hi dream-weaver, if this is the one it looks like she never married. the date and location do fit however.

Was her mothers maiden name Ridge?

can you narrow the timescale down on mary Alice (and harold) Did they have children? When?
When was the last sighting of this couple?? - family weddings/funerals? etc -and where??
they don't seem to ne showing up in deaths after 1983 - so they could still be living or ould have died fairly recently - or could have died pre 1983 -o if you can narow down the last time the family have knowledge of this couple that would help in a search

I was thinking this birth Suzard, as it fits the birth year from dream.weaver. Information removed due to copyright violation. See http://www.rootschat.com/forum/copyright.php for more details

It would only fit with the death cert. if they took a month to register the birth.

Hi Skewbald,
The birth reg mar qtr 1916 can also fit with the birthyear dream-weaver gave ( if a birth was during Dec it possibly would not have been registered until matr qtr following year.
Also it seems her name was mary Alice - and the mar 1916 has the middle initial "A"
But more inportantly - I can find birth reg's of siblings names with mother's maiden name galvin
What do you think??

Hi Suz, I think we need to find out if dream.weaver knows the mothers maiden name, as untill then we are guessing, albeit all good guesses. it's amazing with such an unusual name for there to be more that one qualifier I think in the same area.

I think you are right, skewy
the other thing is dream-weaver states Mary married Harold Gilmore in 1941 - I have found the marriage reg - she married as mary A
Can't find a death reg for mary A Gilmore - isobelruss has searched back to 1965 and not found anything
so if dream weaver is able to narrow down the timescale of when mary Alice was last heard of it would help - or even of husband harold - if he died early -mary a could have remarried
Will patiently wait for dream-weaver

Yes Suz, it depends how much is known by dream.weaver, and how much is taken as "fact" by looking on the web pages. Walter Garlick married Elizabeth Galvin in 1912, but is that the right family. I've chased enough wrong lines in my own family to take nothing for grasnted now.

Firstly, thank you all so much for trying to help. I am sorry I have not been able to get online to answer your queries and another thankyou for still being interested, i will tell you a little of what i know so far regarding Harold G and Mary Alice G (I hope Im not infringing any rights of anyone here these two people were born in 1917 for Harold and 1915 for Alice. I have since rec'd birth certificates for both and in Mary G's case it is 1915 with a MMN of Galvin.............
Last knowledge of these people was in 1951/52, possibly the relationship broke up, but I dont know any proof of this. Possibly they both remarried other people. I found a death record for Harold G in 1977 which Im sure is him. So did he remarry sometime between 1951 and 1977? Did Mary Alice G re-marry during the same timescale, if so there could be descendants.......trying to compose my family tree as best i can.....
