John SIMMS & Jane CLIFTON 1644
« on: Saturday 29 January 05 13:33 UTC (UK) »

Dear all,

Is there anyone currently looking for information on the family of John Simms and Jane Clifton, Baptised around 1644/5 and married on 25 Oct 1666 in Harrold, Bedfordshire, England? If anyone knows where these people came from, and who their parents/children are, I'd love to get in contact and share info.

Cheers,

James

Hi James

Have you had any luck with John Simms and Jane Clifton (Cliftone) I also have these people in my tree but have been unable to go any further back.  I know the decendants lived in Cardington for about 150 years after John and Jane,  John and Jane would be my 7 times g grandparents

Hi Dekka

Welcome to Rootschat

Not sure if James will pick up on your message as he hasn't been on Rootschat for some months

Who is the descendant of John and Jane who lived in Cardington, as I can see no Simms at all there (at least not into the 1800s)? Plenty in nearby Southill though, quite a few of whom flit into my tree

Hi David
Ann Simms daughter of John Simms and Charlotte Daniel married William Hillyard  and lived in Cardington- the next  couple of generations of Hillyards lived in Cardington before my GG grandmother  Jane moved to London

Charlotte was my first cousin 5x removed. I've got a fair bit on the Daniels but haven't researched the Simms. Both sides were members of Southill Baptist Church which is a black hole for me. I've almost sorted the Daniels, but how did you get through to the 1600s with the Simms?
