Finding things in the records office

I've been lucky enough to get to the Leicester records office a couple of times and have mastered the microfiche and the village index.

However I'd like to be able to search for BMDs in the 18th century in the town itself -- but how could I find out which parish to look in? Is there any easy way of knowing whether someone was baptised in (eg) St Mary or St Margaret or All Saints - or do I just have to slog through the whole lot?  Shocked

I know the staff there could probably help with this query but they always seem so busy so I thought I might be able to get a tip or two from RC.

Umm ....... Good  question. ……..

Help full tips :~
If you can find them on latter Census returns
then this will give you some idea of the place of birth
( some times it states the Parish )
plus the Parish where they are living in
are on the top of the Returns page 

Plus Family traditions ….use of the Church were they were married at

But a useful site to have to hand is :~

Once you have mastered the workings of the above site
you can then trawl the parishes in the comfort of your home
