My family originate from Mathon, which I believe is now in Herefordshire (was once in Worcestershire).  I am searching for predecessors of a John Banford born c1780 in Mathon,  (I think) son to William Banford & Ann Price who married 14/2/1774.  I have already found several earlier marriages by searching the Worcestershre Marriage Registers at the WLHO.
My focus now has to be on the Baptism & Burial records for the local church in Mathon - St John the Baptist.
Could anyone advise me where is the best place to access these records ?
Does Hereford have a specific Local Records Office ??, or will I need to go to the City Library ?
Finally, whilst I am happy to do a 300 mile round trip,  I would much prefer to search from home - so does anyone know it the records have been transcribed, and if so any useful links.
Thanks very muchly    Smiley
