Great Granddad John Angus Sutherland (1875-1963)

Having trouble finding the deaths of my great great great grandparents, William Ostler and Helen Malcolm.

William Ostler was born 3 Oct 1802 in Cameron, Fife, son of James Osler and Janet Louden. He was a coal miner.

Helen Malcolm was born 12 Sep 1799 in Newburgh, Fife, eldest daughter of William Malcolm and Margaret Beatt or Bett.

William and Helen got married 1 Nov 1828 in Scoonie, Leven. They had at least seven children. William died between 1862 and 1868, and Helen between 1868 and 1873. I know this because of their children's marriage certificates.

My initial reaction is that they died outwith Scotland, but there's nothing to suggest they moved. Seems a bit odd that I can't find either of them, so any help would be most appreciated.

don't know if you've tried this one -
only one ostler(female) born c1799 +/- 2 years died 1868 - 1873 in fife
when narrowed down it is -

helen ostler died 1872 wemyss fife born c1801

perhaps someone could find her on the 1871 census for any clues if it's your
helen(i.e. place of birth)

I viewed the image and that's definitely her (I can tell for definite by the informant's surname and relationship); what a pity it says "parents' names unknown". Roll Eyes

Now to find William, although I'm beginning to think he died before 1855, despite the fact on an 1858 marriage of one of his children it doesn't say he's deceased.
