Henry CROZIER passage from England to Melbourne.

Hi there.
Is anyone able to advice - My grt Uncle Henry Crozier (B. 1886.) left England for Melbourne, Victoria. between 1909 - 1917. ( Probably 1912)
I'm trying to establish the exact year and even perhaps the name of ship?
He settled in Northcote, Victoria and died there in 1942.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Did Henry come out with any one else., or maybe he went somewhere else before coming to OZ, Just checked the passenger lists on findmypast, and i cant see a Henry Crozier arriving in those years

Hi Daizi
To the best of my knowledge Henry went to Australia alone ( He married there at Broken Hill in 1922) .
I have no idea if he went somewhere else first, he was of very modest means so I doubt he did too much travelling. He was a coalminer in England and a labourer in Oz.

If you get Henry's death cert, ( can be downloaded online for $17.50,) it will tell you how long he has been in the country.

Hi there Daizi.
I do have henry's death certificate and it states about 3o years in Victoria making his entry about 1912 but I was hoping I might find the exact date of his arrival + perhaps even the name of the ship he sailed in.
I have drawn a blank with my own research on this matter but by-and-large I have been very lucky in gathering so much information about my family history. People have been so kind.

I see a Henry Crozier on the electoral roll in Northcote in 1931 and 1936, with Mary Ann at the same address. I'm happy to post the details if you don't already have them.

Thank-you very much Judith - it is great to get a precise date for the Croziers in Northcote for 1931. The earliest I had them was 1936.

I was not sure whether you had this possible burial for the couple at Preston Cemetry
I know you have Henry's death certificate which probably tells you this, but perhaps MARY ANN is of interest.

CROZIER MARY ANN located E 03798 1940-11-21 aged 61

You will see other Crozier's there too.

Hi there Sue.
You are spot on with these two grave sites.
Thank-you so much for this information. I had only just learned of these details 2 weeks ago and it was news to me that Henry had been buried in the same grave as his wife, Mary Ann.
A rootschat user managed to get me a photo of Henry's grave and I was very surprised and comforted to see it has been kept very clean and tidy. He died in 1942 leaving no family and to be honest I expected his grave to be overgrown and neglected, but it was neat and tidy - good on the local council at Preston Cemetery.
