I've begun to post the information I've managed to locate about the extended Halpin family on the Wicklow site, and I have a great deal to pass on about Dr Charles Halpin, who lived and worked in the Cavan district during the famine.  If anyone knows anything at all about Charles, specifically about the method he used to cure crops of spuds of the blight, I'd be glad to hear it.  I have a good grasp of the method myself, picked up from a thorough reading of various newspaper archives, but would like a local take on the matter, if one exists.  Please post replies to the Wicklow address.
