If anyone has access to the transcript, or to the originals, I'd appreciate a look up in Croydon parish register for the burial of Edward Chapman in 1849. There's a death in the June quarter 1849 in Caxton registration district in the GRO index, and I'm hoping it was my Edward in Croydon who is on the 1841 but goes awol thereafter.

Hi David,
My Croydon Pr's only go up to 1845 but on the Cambridgeshire Burial index, Edward was buried in Croydon in 1849 age 14.

Thanks very much Tempsford. That's the one I was looking for, aged 6 in 1841! So he couldn't be the Edward Chapman age 24 who married in Canada in 1859
