I am trying to gain some info on my grand-uncle Charlie above. I think he lived in the Ballyfermot area. He is buried in a small graveyard just outside of Old Kilcullen in Kildare. He is the son of Robert Talbot (1874 - 1952) and Elizabeth Barry (1879 - 1931). I am trying to find out who he married, I have two possible names (although I could be wrong) Annie Lee or Mary Morrissey. I have tried to link a match using the IGI Pilot site but both ladies could still be his wife. If anyone has him on their tree I would love to link up. I have the family going back to the early 1600's. He had brothers called Adam, Thomas and Robert.

Not sure what you mean by 'I am trying to find out who he married, I have two possible names (although I could be wrong) Annie Lee or Mary Morrissey. I have tried to link a match using the IGI Pilot site but both ladies could still be his wife.'
LDS pilot site has following marriages- Charles (not Charlie) TALBOT Oct./Dec.1945 Dublin South vol.2 page 717 Annie LEE - same details as above Mary MORRISEY Oct./Dec.1945 vol.2 page 577

Sorry, to clarify, I got the name Annie Lee from a search of possible marriages of Charles Talbot in Dublin. However, he is buried just outside of Kilcullen and his father also lived there. It is possible that he might have married in Kildare or even outside the country. I have many children born in the Kildare area with Morrisey as mother and Talbot as father. One of those born in Kildare is a name I recognise as being common throughout the family. I am really hoping that someone might recognise the details I gave above and can confirm the wifes name.

I'm also a bit puzzled. "I have many children born in the Kildare area with Morrisey as mother and Talbot as father." - do these 'many children' not have names of parents or are you just finding them in the indexes? If you go back to civil registration indexes and search for marriages for Charles Talbot (there are no Charlie Talbots listed) you will see there are only a few possibilties. Of course, perhaps Charlie was just a nickname for a completely different name besides Charles ot Charles was Charlie's middle name.

I'm sure Charles is the correct name (I have his birth cert) but his family moved to Kildare in the early 1920's so I'm not sure whether the Lee or Morrissey connection is correct. I accept that there is only one one marraige that for Charles, but I would still like to ensure I'm correst. I can't get to the Registry Office at the moment, I was hoping that someone might recognise the name and confirm it for me.

Hi Pamela,
do you know if he had any kids, My Grandad was a Talbot and from Ballyfermot
I know that he definitely had kids as I found his grave outside Kilcullen recently (see Talbot posts in the Kildare section). My problem is that I am trying to confirm who he was married to. If you let me know the details of your grandad I might be able to tie him in with mine. If it proves to be a link I'll have lots of info for you going back to the mid 1600's.
You are not allowed to sent a personal message until you have made a few postings so in the meantime you'll have to post any replies on this posting. Would you also make sure you don't give any details of living persons.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Doggy, I am the son of XXXX, your 1st cousin, he is the son of XXXX from XXXX, XXXX's brother. I found the grave in the Old Kilculen graveyard with Robert (1874 - 1952) and his wife Elizabeth (nee Barry) 1879 - 1931). I have a photo of your dad with my Gran Mollie in Cabra. I have lots of information going back to the 1600's of our family, but little info on where your dad and other siblings ended up. I am trying to piece together where they all went. I wonder if you could confirm that your mother was XXXX? I am also wondering if you might have a photo of your Grandad Robert, no-one seems to have any as far as I can determine.
You need to have a few postings before you can send a personal message, however I'll try to send one to you and perhaps we can link up.
