PERFITT of Ipswich
« on: Thursday 14 May 09 21:41 UTC (UK) »

Hi,

I am looking for any Perfitt information.  I have a possible May Audrey Perfitt born c1916 in Ipswich.  Mother's maiden name is Ludbrook.

May Audrey or Audrey May as I would know her died in 1960 in bucks age 43.  She married and her surname became Martin lewis.  She had a son Gerald Henry in 1943.  His father was a canadian pilot during WWII.  She remarried in 1953 to Fran Charles Gurney in St Alban.

I know that Audrey's father was Arthur Perfitt - postman GPO.  he died before 1953.  I (and a very helpful Roots person) have checked records for Arthur Perfitts but it is guess work but the closest is one from Ipswich.  he would have had a second daughter called Joyce born 1921.

If anyone has any info or advice I would be so happy.  This is may father's side of the family and I have no info about them apart from the above.

Thanks
SElena

Hi selena,

have sent you a PM

have information on Arthur Perfitt and Edith h Ludbrook

birth reg freeBMD
Edith hilda Ludbrook
Mar qtr 1886
ipswich
4a 813

seems she went by the name Hilda Edith Huh
daughter may Audrey changed her names around too!!

Possibly Edith Hilda and Arthur met in a lunatic asylum - don't worry - they were working there - not inmates!

1911 census shows at Borough Lunatic Asylum, foxhall Rd, Ipswich, Suffolk
Arthur Perfit single 26 Asylum attendant b Ipswich
Hilda Edith Ludbrook single age 25 asylum nurse b Ipswich

they must have been a very caring couple to be in that kind of ocupation

Hi Suz

Looks like he died June qtr 1903, Ipswich 4a 495, so I wonder could he be the,

W G L born 1861 in Suffolk on Anc.

Sorry I don't have a sub just now but I found this one on the index by just putting in the search; W G for first name, 1861 for birth date & Suffolk for residence. Smiley

Hope you can find him. Wink
