Samuel Wright beerhouse keeper.
« on: Friday 15 May 09 16:19 BST (UK) »

Hi I'm looking for any information on Samuel Wright born 1851 Kilburn Derbyshire.
In 1881 living at 74 Holbrook Moor and a beerhouse keeper,on 1901 census return an innkeeper "CrossKeys Inn" at Holbrook moor Belper.
He was married to Sarah Bainbridge and died in 1915.Anything would be great.

Is the pub still there?Any pictures?

I'm not completely certain - but i think the dead Poets inn was originally the cross keys

just put Dead Poets Inn Holbrook derbys into a search engine and you wil find lots of information - there is even a (youtube) video of a tour around the village

Just to confirm that Suzard is correct - the Cross Keys did, indeed, become the Dead Poets Inn (about ten years ago?).
