hi
i`m trying to find out info on a horace baker married to julie------ in 1863 clapham.......horace was born 1825 in old catton norfolk....he had 10 children...i have the 1861 census the1871, 1881,1891,and the 1901 but still dont know who his parents are....please help...
and if anyone can find out about a pub called the ye olde queens head owned by his son herbert henry baker dont know when then please let me know

Hi Kirsty,

What makes you think they were married in Clapham in 1863? The were already shown as married in 1861, and both of them were from Norfolk and still living in Norfolk in 1861.

FreeBMD shows a more likely match for their marriage:

Jun 1853 Tunstead 4b 59
Horace Baker - Julia Bester

Tunstead is the correct registration distrcit for Julia's birth place Hoveton St John.

All born in county.

The 1841 census doesn't shows relationships, unfortunately.

well i found a horace baker baptised at st margarets church norfolk and his parents were william and margaret but i wasnt sure if it was the right family....but now i think it is

Do you have access to the censuses? I believe that Julia is Julia Besford in 1851, parents Leonard and Julia. Shout if you need a transcription. (In 1841 their name looks like Besfor)

Search the 1841 and 1851 censuses for a Julia born ca. 1837 and living in Hoveton  Smiley
