The only census you can see for free is the 1881.
However you should be able to acess Ancestry for free at your local library.
We can in the UK so I bet you can too.........I hope  Wink

Ok so i got one last chance to get back out to see the film and look through the entire thing and these are the owens, and owen that i found!! by dates

Thomas owens 1850 jan. son of henry and lydia owens. gold beater
Susan owens  1850 20 jan.

Thomas owen 1852, 27 june. son of richard and jane owen. 11 duke street. porter

Henry owen 1855 18nov. son of henry james and frances ada owen. gentleman. Huh ceremony done by john owen??? He did a bunch of them in 1855 whole page!! like he was the priest!!

on to the willis side as i found today

1849 James Thomas willis, son of james and elizabeth willis, 11 vere st., clerk to a barrister.

eliza eugenia willis 1853 daughter of james and elizabeth willis 12 acton lpce barrister

harry willis 1863, son of john and caroline willis, 16 great newport street. gaitor-maker.

now heres a really interesting thing i just found using family search. record search pilot site.


found a john owens married to a caroline. 1880 u.s. cencus born 1826 right birth but went to u.s. age 54yrs.

One of the baptism entries you posted was particularly interesting.......the one for James Thomas Willis, parents James and Elizabeth Willis, of 11 Vere St. It is interseting because, if I remember correctly, your Harry/ Henry and Matilda are connected to 17 and 19 Vere St in later censuses? I haven't been able to find a connection between the two families at this point, though, but one never knows.

i'am finding this owen thing a little weird though for the simple fact that a john owen was doing all the ceremonies!!!
