And then there is the 1871 (I think we are going over old ground from the other thread now) of St Clements Danes Joshua Willis 43 bn Limehouse Caroline 43 bn Newnham Glos Harry 11?17? bn Westmonster St James
with the question of is Joshua the same as James, and is Caroline bn Glos the same as Caroline bn Chelsea in 1861(with John then being bn Glos)
At least you can now rule out that other John/Caroline family with the dtr Ann

you and me both, too many john willis's and too many harry willis!!!!!!!
I am looking at the 1861 census shows john willis married to a caroline willis, with a daughter caroline willis age 11, and a harry willis age 6.
Is this the right one or not if so then i will send out for the birth certificate for harry willis today!!!! and know by next week!
Just need the right page and volume number!!! Thanks Sifer
This is getting confusing!!!

Thats the difficulty - we havent found that harry's birth for sure have we? We found an 1855 birth, but I believe you sent for it and the dad was not John, so ruled it out.
The harry in 1871 (with the Joseph for dad) is 11 or 17, image unclear, bn St James.
Isnt this what the whole other thread was about - finding Harry's birth?
it is not proving simple - we cant just magic up a ref number!

If you're talking about the marriage it's 1860 NOT 1850

I am going back to basics cos I'm confused, please bare with me.
In 1881 and 1891 when Harry/Henry was married what are his birth years and birth places that are given. Do you have his marriage certificate?

Maybe he was born in 1855,but not as a Willis- perhaps to an unmarried mum?
Who married John Willis after Henry was born.
Maybe that's why we are having so much trouble finding him?
