Looking for Henry Godman/Goodman in 1851 please...as seen below in 1861

1861 census
28 King Street, St Botolph without Aldgate, Whitechapel, London, Middlesex
Henry Goodman   head   50   lab Chelsea pensioner   Thornham, Kent
Charlotte   "   wife   51            Bisfield, Suffolk
+ many others not of the name

*Henry Godman c.29th July 1810 Thornham, Kent (Bearsted?)

Researching names BRYANT (Camberwell), PASTERFIELD (Essex and all), RAY (Holborn/Islington areas back to Brentford), POWELL (Glouc & beyond?)

Hi Bryant,
               As he was a Chelsea Pensioner he would have been ex Army.
               At age 40 in 1851 ,he could well have still been serving ,maybe abroad ,Try on the Armed Forces Board ,they may be able to help.

Henry appears to have been discharged from the army in 1848 according to the catalogue of the National Archives.

1851 - Star Inn, Gillingham, Kent

Hy GODMAN lodger 42 unm b.Thurnham Kent - occupation reads something like "Hoslor" - Ostler perhaps Huh

HO107/1611 folio 743 page 9

I think Charlotte's birthplace (1861 census) reads Betfield - perhaps it should be Bedfield Suffolk Huh

Are you still wanting Charlotte in 1851?  If so, do you know her name prior to marriage to Henry GOODMAN?
