Hi
I would appreciate some help with finding the parents of Arthur Willis b 1853 Elston, Notts who married Sarah Ann Beedon in Grantham in 1876.
In the 1861 census, Arthur Willis (born 1853 Elston, Notts) is living with his grandparents Robert & Mary (both b 1808 Elston) in Cotham, Notts. In 1871 he is a servant elsewhere.
There is a birth record for Male Wills Sep Q 1853 Newark (vol 7b page 465), which would seem to fit
Earlier census records show Robert & Mary had three children, Ann (b 1832), John (B 1834) and Jane (B 1841) but the IGI doesn't show any marriage date or earlier baptisms.
Jane is too young so either John or Ann or another of Robert & Mary's children must be one of Arthur's parents but which one? Can anyone help please?

Do you have the marriage cert?
It should tell you the father's name & occupation unless like one of my ancestors it was left blank.

From Notts Marriage Index -
Robert Willis married Mary Beeson
20th June 1831, Elston Chapel.
So perhaps there weren't any earlier baptisms.
