Looking for Family of William BINGLE
« on: Saturday 16 May 09 16:49 UTC (UK) »

Looking for William and Annie Bingle of Aylesbury.

Had a son William Born about 1824  in Aylesbury. Could have been one of many!
He immigrated to Caledon South Africa where he married a Mary Ann Brown.

Is there anyone who could help?

The only surname I can see anything like it is Bignell...
Even then it looks to be too late to be his generation.

I'm in Cape Town and our archives has a book on the british immigrants to the Overberg (Caledon) as listing William and family from Aylesbury.

William snr and wife Annie did not immigrate as far as I know.

OK, so when did William (B 1824) arrive in SA?
What family arrived with him?

That is one of the things I'm trying to establish, when he arrived (not with the 1820 settlers). A Thomas Bingle came out in 1820 but there doesn't seem to be a connection.

William (1824) got married in Caledon in1848 most of my family must have arrived steerage and nameless on the passenger lists!!
