Good day Routschatters........this you would think would be dead simple.

I am looking for 1881 Census entry for two ladies Mary and daughter Phoebe Culmer
Phoebe did not marry until 1883.

Mary Culmer      1871 Census Workhouse Herne Kent aged 29 Domestic b Blean, Kent
Phoebe Culmer 1871 Census Workhouse Herne Kent aged 15 b Bridge, Kent.

I have looked at the 1881 Census on the familysearch.org site but gives me nothing. Is this site complete? Perhaps someone out there may have a better transcription or perhaps I am not hitting the right keys to get the information.

Any help much appreciated as always.

Have you got the Marriage certificate to Edward Tibbles?

It may give you her last known address before she got married and make it a little bit easier to narrow down.

Can't see them anywhere either. Perhaps they were laying low.

See there was a John CULMER aged 12 with Phoebe and Mary in 1871 as well. A brother to Phoebe?

Could not find him in 1881 either, but he shows up in 1891, still in the Herne Bay Workhouse. Quite possible they were there in 1881 as well. Can't find the Workhouse in the Enumeration Schedule either.
