doubt it - couldnt see a Birth Regn either - prob Enumerators error, copying out the schedules by candlelight and got mixed up.

Have you found any of them 1881 onward ?  Roll Eyes

I couldnt see Henry pre-1871 either   Huh

If the 1-month old 'Mercy' was indeed born in Woolwich, the family must have only just arrived in Tonbridge / Tunbridge area ....

I couldnt see any deaths 1871-1881 either, nor remarriages which might have changed the kids surnames ....

didnt look in 1901 tho, as assumed any survivors would have married by then ...

I can't find anything on them before that census or after, until Charlotte baker comes into the picture, she married Alma Thomas Goldsmith who was a Hawker at one time. they married 1883 march 12th.

That Henry is still in Lindfield in 1861, living alone - says he's a Pianoforte Maker (dittoed from previous line)

1861 - RG9/581; Folio: 25; Page: 44 - Lindfield

still there in 1871 - married to a Jane, so he's out !
