Please does anyone know of any care homes in the Samford Brett area in 1920s and who would have the records of children who were there?

Have you tried contacting Barnardos and the Children Society via their web sites as they may be able to help you. I had a distant relation who was sent from Barnarbos via the Home Children's scheme to Canada and they were really helpful. They may be able to 'point you' in the right direction re records etc.

To Heather's list you might add Fairbridge Farms- children from UK were sent to their Farms in Canada[Victoria] ,  West Australia and S. Africa. They keep good records and I am told are helpful.
