William Norice from Wood Eaton.

I have an affidavit, signed by William Norice in May 1791, that he was from Wood Eaton and he was at least 25years old, at this time. He was about to marry Sarah Ash.

There is no Norice anywhere in Oxfordshire!!

The closest name is Nourse. A John and Judith Nourse of Wood Eaton. Their last child in that register was Appolonia 1751 5th July (bapt privately)

 Baptism 1740 4th Nov was the first record for them at Wood Eaton. A child John, but he was born at Sion Hill, Middlesex.

Did they live in Middx and have family at Wood Eaton ?

Is it at all possible that William was born and bapt in Middx? but believed he came from Wood Eaton ?

I hope you're well. What about this as a possibility ? Year of baptism nearly right and maybe three miles from Woodeaton :-

 Cheesy Hello Paul, Thanks so much for your interest.

Unfortunately, I went down this road Islip - Forest Hill..
Followed this William and all the family. Henry Norris and Jane Godfrey for years. Have the wills which take Henry thru to Headington and Iffley and Littlemore etc.
If anyone has this line, I have the details..  Roll Eyes  Cool
This William is in 1841 census with his sister Sarah Cooper.


The William that marries Sarah Ash ... death Islip 15th Dec 1836 aged 72.....  Undecided
    Cannot find a thing other than a possible in Mixbury.
