COMPLETED Local knowledge - Ashington
« on: Tuesday 19 May 09 11:02 UTC (UK) »

My wife's grandfather married at St Aidan's RC Church in Ashington in 1920.   I have been looking for a picture of the church, but have drawn a blank.   I am assuming that it is no longer a church as there is no reference when carrying out a web search.

Can anyone with local knowledge enlighten me ??

Thanks
Harry

Found this tiny one:

Try googling. There are a few hits for the church.

Could have been something as simple as a misspelling.  Wink

I found "Station Road" in Ashington but not sure where St Aidans is. Appears to be on a corner judging by that little photo.

I'll leave it with you now. Good luck.
