Well.......I used the Freebdm and put in Edith Chamberlain with dates from 1882 ~ 1889 and none came up in the Windsor area (Just like Nell said) and I tried Edith Rose, Rose, Rose Edith!

So, I can't send away for the birth certificate ~ mystery!!

Had a brandy and had another go  Grin So far...

Edith Chamberlain Born in Cookham (Windsor & Maindenhead)  in 1881 District Cookham, Vol 2c, Page 433 The qtr is April, May, June and Edith's Birthday was May 28th

1901 ~ age 16 years boards with a family in Maidenhead (Ties in with Mum's story)

1904 ~ Marries William Coe in Windsor

1911 ~ Rose Coe (It says born in 1885 but I read that mistakes were often made and it was common to lie a little about your age!)

Need some expert advice please  Roll Eyes

 Wink Asked our Grandad tonight and he remembers a Chamberlain, that used to work at the Gas Works. (That would of been Maidenhead).
