Don't think we had the 1861 census:

position of ship at midnight April 7th 1861 - Suda Bay, Island of Candia, (now known as Crete),  Mediterranean

thank you for this.  I had a note that he was a naval rating but I can now search further to see if he made it through the war.

Hi Lynn,

I see in an earlier post that you were researching the family of George Goldsmith & Celia Ann Wakefield/Foreman.

My 3xgreatgrandmother Caroline Wakefield was the sister of Celia.

Can you tell me anytjiong further on George & Celia.

I had a death for a Celia Ann Foreman in 1840 Faversham Kent and thought it was her but it looks like she married again to George Goldsmith.  Anything you can tell me on this family would be great.

Thanks

Hello Keith

Sorry I cannot be of help but I haven't posted about George Goldsmith and Celia.  I have a George Goldsmith born in 1839 but no other information on him.  However, good luck.
