Marriage look up please?

Hi

With some fantastic help from rootschatters I am now well on my way to knocking down some brick walls for my husband's family after finally finding them on the census records.

Is anyone able to help me now to trace some marriages please?

I am looking for a marriage between John Evans and Cath(e)rine ?.  John was born c1809 and Cathrine 1822.  No sign of them being married in 1841 and first child born 1844 so I'm assuming the marriage took place sometime between 1841-1844.

I am also looking for the marriage between Robert Evans and Gwen ?.  Robert was born c1847 and Gwen c1840.  I am assuming this would have taken place between 1867-1871 as they were married per 1871 census.

This family all appear to have been born in Llangian so I am hoping the marriage also took place here.  Any help in tracing these marriages would be very much appreciated and will open up another branch of the family tree.

Hello KPM,

There is a possible marriage of John Evans to Catherine Hughes in Caernarvon RD in the December quarter of 1842. Reference Vol 27, Page 461.

Another but this is after the dates given in March quarter 1845, Caernarvon RD John Evans to Catherine Hughes. Vol 27 Page 411.

Both on BMD.

The only marriage which came up for Robert Evans and Gwen was in Neath RD, September quarter 1869, Robert Evans to Gwenllian Griffiths. Vol 11a Page 678.

Thanks for your help.  Looks like I may need to order some birth certificates rather than marriage ones to find out the mother's maiden name.
