Mrs. M.B. McDonnell, Co, Wexford, 1962
« on: Wednesday 20 May 09 21:42 UTC (UK) »

I have today found the address of Mrs. M.B. McDonnell who was living at 7A Shannon Hill, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, Ireland in 1961-1964.  She wrote several letters from that address to Canada looking for relatives.  I believe her first name was Mae.
Would there be any way to find out if there are descendants living at that address, as I would think this lady is deceased.  Her husband's initials could be R. J. but that is not a certainty by any means.  I also believe her maiden name could be O'Leary as she referred to a Micheal O'Leary in her letters.  Just guessing a lot of things, but if she is the person that I think she is, her mother's name would be Mary Kelly, who would have married an O'Leary and then daughter Mae married a McDonnell.
Thanks for any help

Yes, I did post before but now I think that Mrs. M.B.McDonnell is not Mary but maybe her daugher or daughter in law.  Definitely connected to Mary Kelly somehow as asking about the Davis family/West/O'Leary.

The Irish phone book is available at. www.eircom.ie

Hi,
I am very pleased to receive your kind reply and information.  The Michael that I am looking for is born 1888 or 1889 to parents Daniel and Margaret O'Leary (I just learned this last night) in Inchigeelagh, near Macroom.  So in 1911, he would be abt. 22. He married Margaret Hegarty after the first world war. So looking at the information that you have so kindly provided, it would seem that none of these listings fit the Michael that I am looking for.
As for McDonnell, there is only one choice in 1911 in Enniscorthy.  Bessie usually stands for Elizabeth, not Alice unless she was Alice Elizabeth. Hard to know.  Was Bessie born in Canada in 1878?
I do see an Annie living with the O'Learys on Irish St, not an Alice.
Thanks for your help
