Lanigan Edward Kikkenny

Can anyone help me to find Edward Lanigan of Thomastown Kilkenny a Blacksmith. His son Michael married  in England Gladys Joan Evans on 13 Dec 1941 . Michael was age 22,  an a private in the Army   any info would be helpful.

dont know if he's connected but a directory for the early 1890s lists :

   Patrick Lonergan, blacksmith, Thomastown.

the name could read 'Lonergun' ... the 2nd last letter is not very clear but probably looks more like a U than an A

no other Lanigan/Lonergans are listed in the town.

My grandfather was Edward Lanigan, a blacksmith of Stoneyford, Kilkenny. He married Bridget and had 14 children. Michael was one of 4 sons, there were 10 girls. Edward and his wife died in England and returned to Ireland for burial at Danesfort.

Thanks Gill, Im sure that is the Edward I am looking for.   My friend Carol's husband is related to Michael Lannigan through his mothers side, so you must be some sort of cousins.  I will get Carol to contact you.
