Looking for parents, siblings & children:
Elizabeth FLETT b: 1818 d: 3 Mar 1853 who married Peter MILLER b: 1822 and d: 29 Sep 1902.
Believe Peter remarried a Barbara COCK c1854.
Any help much appreciated.

Yes remember re: Scotts. Yes we do have Scott, Craigie, Shearer, Flett, & believe Miel & Linklatter...also other main ones of mine are Peace, Laughton, Tulloch,Sinclair. Most from Stronsay & it appears Sanday, Orkney altho' some Shearer reles live in Kirkwall now.
Other such as Drever, Miller ,Fotheringham Twatt, Maxwell etc are also connected.
A good friend of mine has just formed a Stronsay Kinfolk forum which I'm very excited about, as I'm sure those whose ancestors came from Stronsay will certainly get some breakthru's, espec. as it grows.

Interesting you have Fletts in NZ. Mine are the Shearers.

Hi Tiffaney
Elizabeth Flett was my great great Grandmother so I have most of her descendants. They had 3 children, Elizabeth,1849 Peter 1851 (he was my great grandfather) and Georgina 1853. After Elizabeth died in 1853, my gggrandfather re married Barbara Cock- they had one surviving child Mary Ann.
Let me know how much detail you need- she has a lot of descendants!
Have you found out any more about Elizabeth Flett, I don't have her parents or siblings.

1851 census whitehall stronsay: George Shearer sailor 54, Helen 51, john son 8, peter grocer 28, elisabeth wife 26 born kirkwall, elisabeth daughter 2 & peter son 0yrs
looks like peters parents were george and helen and elisabeth was born in kirkwall

From the info I already have George Shearer 1797-1865 and Helen Miller 1799 were Peter's 1822-1902 parents
Children of George and Helen
Peter 1822-1902
James 1824-1899
George 1827-1850
Isabella 1837
John 1843- no more info- must be the 8 year old son in the census
So... I have Elizabeth Flett born in 1825 in Kirkwall if she was being truthful about being 26 at the census in 1851,
although family info has given me 1818 as her year of birth.
Can anyone else help?

found elisabeth flett death on scotlands people: died 3/3/1853 elisabeth flett wife of peter shearer aged about 35 yrs so 1818 looks like the correct year of birth
