Walter Hawksford
« on: Friday 22 May 09 15:38 UTC (UK) »

hi

You know how you start out researching something and then come across something else and just cannot stop yourself from going off at a tangent well.....

I am researching John Auguste Pouchot DCM who was killed in the last months of the Great War, the Commonwealth War Graves Commissions 'Debt of Honour' states that he was the foster son of Mrs. Edith Hawksford, of "Tanjore," Canbury Gardens, Kingston-on-Thames. I have been trying to find a link between Mrs Hawksford and Johns family but so far have not been able to do so. I believe that her husband was Walter Hawksford, and while scouring the net for said link have come across the fact that a Walter Hawksford from Kingston, Surrey was one of the survivors from the Titanic, it would seem most likely that this is the same man, but does anyone know for sure?

Regards

Can't find a death reg for father (Auguste Francios) - wonder if he was a passenger on Titanic???

John's father (Auguste francois) is with his mother Lucy at 29 Claverton St Pimlico SW London (occ Surveyor)
