You need Martin’s father’s name from his marriage cert., if he also happened to be Martin, there was a baptism in Crossmolina RC Parish in 1833. Understatement of age was normal. The church records seemingly begin in 1831 but many Parish registers commence after that date.

"Westport, Shop st (9)
Lavelle John & Bridget; Maggie. (auctioneer)"

These were my GGParents.  John had a brother Thomas who lived in Newport.  (They were somehow related to the famous Fr Pat Lavelle, Patriot Priest of Partry)

Their 4 sons emigrated to US, but I have no records of them there as Lavelle would be difficult to research, The names of these sons were,
Dominic b. 1869
John b. 1875
Thomas b. 1877 (May have stayed in Wport)
Michael b. 1882
and  Peter b. 1883
(No Martin in this family)

They had 2 other sons, and 1 daughter who died as infants.
Maggie (above) was a seamstress and married a John O Malley.

Their youngest Daughter Katie married a Matthew Beckett who was my GF

Thanks for that, SeanMac

The Westport Becketts are my relations (They were RC and originated from Co Kilkenny)

The Castlebar Becketts were Landed Gentry and were Church of Ireland.  I have given a lot of information to some of this Beckett line as there were many of them living in the Turlough area.  They were connected to Ballina Becketts, also and owned Mills and Businesses.
As far as I am aware the last one Frank Beckett from Ballina passed a few years ago.

Thanks for all the info.As I am not sure where the Lavelles came from in Mayo ,may have been Swinford,I can only hope someone has them in a family tree.
both sides of my family are Irish.
Great Grandparents:
Lavelles/Ruane maybe Rowan or Rowland.
Loftus/Mouchan or Maughan. All maybe from Mayo.
Other GGParents:
Flanagan from Killeigh Tullamore. Co. Offaly.
I have names but no dates.
Kind Regards for your help
