Garret and Mary were in Ballyrasheen prior to 1840 and he was most likely born abt 1815.  Their first child was born there and they then removed to canada.   Would sure like to find out more about them. Roman Catholic church where records might be found  etc.  Two sons were John and WIlliam.

I dont see any details at the moment for a place named Ballyrasheen.. but there is a townland in Co. Wicklow named Ballyraheen.

Barony :    Shillelagh
Civil Parish :    Mullinacuff
PLU / Registration District : Shillelagh    

Ballyraheen is close (4 km) to Tinahely, and near to the Co. Carlow Border, google map link : http://www.rootschat.com/links/06do/

you may find baptism details on the Irish Family History Foundation system at www.irish-roots.ie

Their database only includes RC baptisms at the moment (no Marriages or non-Catholic details for Wicklow). Each transcripts cost €5 to view.

Update : The Civil Parish of Mullinacuff seems to be covered by the RC parish of Clonmore, which is based in Co. Carlow, which is not currently included in the IFHF website.. The NLI film number is P.4198

Thankyou Shane,  I apprreciate your help.  I did spell it wrong and I have pulled up a map showing where it is but with a small village it is hard to know where the church they used might be.  I will check those out.   Sally
