Waites from Driffield

I am trying to find more info on my great granddad Arthur Waites b 1870. His Wife's name was Ann Elizabeth (nee unknown). They had 3 children before moving to Hull early 1900's. Can anyone help find out my Great Grandmother Maiden name?

Hi and welcome to Rootschat

Wife was Annie E according to the 1901 which also shows their eldest child as aged 5 b Driffield.

That would suggest a marriage between 1891 - 1895 but there are 3 Arthur Waite marriage to an Annie but no Annie E and no Arthur Waites

I think you are going to need a copy of one of their childrens birth certs

Annie was b c 1870 North Frodingham so I checked the 1881 census for a possible

There is an Annie E Hoggard daughter of Richard & Sarah

Then this marriage on freebmd but a long time after

Marriages Sep 1929 

Hoggard  Anne E  Sculcoates  9d 514   
Waites  Arthur   Sculcoates  9d 514

Births September qtr 1899 

Olive Isabella Waites  Driffield  9d 360

Births June qtr 1896
Ada WAITES  Driffield  9d 341

Births December qtr  1897 
Hilda Waites  Driffield  9d 340

i will be getting my Grandmother birth cert (Hilda b 1897) so hopefully i will be able to follow her parents back from there.

Hilda's birth is on www.yorkshirebmd.org.uk so you can quote the reference below when you visit Walkergate.  The other reference above is just for GRO applications
