Hi Rootschatters  Grin

I am trying to trace Emma Jakeman before the 1891 Census with little luck

I have from the 1891 Census

Jakeman Ann Head Widow 69 Born Foleshill
Jakeman Harriett Grandau s 20 Weaver born Coventry
Wood Joseph W Grnson M 25 Printer born Coventry
Wood Emma E M 21 Weaver Born Birmingham
Wood Joseph W 9 months born Coventry

Emma and Joseph married 1890 and her Maiden name was Jakeman
I have found a birth for an Emma Jakeman Aston 1873 but the age is a bit out so I would like to confirm her age on an earlier census but cant seem to find the family. Can anyone locate them for me?

if she is Emily how come she married as Emma?

on image she is clearly Jakeman

Yes it is Emma Elizabeth

So she is living with or visiting her grandparents in 1871. Best thing I can do is order her marriage certificate to Joseph so I can find out who her dad is.

The birth in aston also must be hers

Denise  - the 1873 birth is 2 years after the 1871 census   Undecided

There is an Emma Elizabeth Jakeman registered Q3. 1869 Warwick  Vol. 6d. Pg. 506

Do you have details of John and Ann's older children ?  You may find - when you get the marriage certificate - that her father was Thomas or William   Wink

Yes mum my brains not working to good today hungover lol

I have seen the birth in 1869 and I think she is the daughter of William Jakeman and Sarah living in warwick at the same time as my Emma living in coventry but unless I order the certificate I will not be sure.

I agree - I don't think Emma Elizabeth birth reg 1869 warwick is your Emma elizabeth - but will have a look around

The parents of the Emma registered in 1873 must be Job JAKEMAN and Jane (baptised in St Saviour's, Saltley, which comes under the Aston registration district), so you can probably ignore that one!
