Jeffs Family
« on: Tuesday 23 January 07 01:37 UTC (UK) »

Wondering if anyone can help with this one?

Searching for parents of Thomas Jeffs christened 29/10/1782 in Cold Ashby, he married Jane Haddon b 1803 Cold Ashby on 26/10/1825 again in Cold Ashby. (IGI has Thomas born around About 1791   Cold Ashby, Northampton, England but does not list any parents).

Thomas was buried Buried 30/12/1849.  There appears to be a conflict in his parents details.  One record has Jefts against Thomas' name, however another relative states that the minister that married them was named Jefts.

Can anyone verify this one way or the other?

thanks
Donna

Hi Donna

Not quite what you asked for.

Cold Ashby Parish Church

Thos S of Thos & Ann LETTS was bapd Oct 29th 1782.

The Letts is as clear as a bell.

A Thomas Letts did marry a Ann Smith in 1773 at Cold Ashby.

Cheers Sandy

To hopefully clarify this,

Thomas Jeffs m Jane Haddon 26/10/1825 at Cold Ashby.
The minister spelted Thomas Jeffs as Thomas Jefts on the marriage certificate.
Thomas signed as Thomas Jeffs.

In the 1841 census Jane Jeffs is with her father William Haddon and a brother Eli Haddon.
Thomas Jeffs is either deceased or a stray.

Jane Jeffs is listed as a widow in the 1861 and 1871 census. She is in her brother Eli Haddon's household both census

A relative believes he is Thomas Letts son of Thomas Letts and Ann Smith m 1773 at Cold Ashby.
