I have attached a postcard showing a ceremony at a village war memorial taken not long after the end of WW1. I suspect that the photograph was taken in Berkshire, Hampshire or Wiltshire.
I would welcome any help in locating the exact location.

The United Kingdom National Inventory for War Memorials have a list of War Memorials on their web site. I found them via "Google". When I put "Celtic" as a key word and "Cross" as a type of memorial into their site search it came up with a list. One I noticed was in Tilehurst in East Sussex "Location-roadside in village" "three-stepped base surmounted by a tapering shaft and Celtic Wheel Cross". I am sure others will know if that is a common design. They apparently have a photo of that one and others, so if you haven't contacted them already, it might be worth asking if they recognize your photo. Hope that helps, Eliza5

hello Eliza and thank you for your help. I had a great uncle who lived at Plumpton behind the Downs so perhaps I should post it on the Sussex list. Anyway thanks for your help.

Eliza5 thanks for your help which indirectly solved the problem.
I listed the photograph on the Sussex listing and someone suggested that it was the war memorial at Longstock between Stockbridge and Andover in Hampshire and indeed it is.
