Do you know where this is?
« on: Saturday 23 May 09 19:17 BST (UK) »

I have attached a postcard showing a ceremony at a village war memorial taken not long after the end of WW1. I suspect that the photograph was taken in Berkshire, Hampshire or Wiltshire.

I would welcome any help in locating the exact place.

Wonderful picture.   I bet the cottages aren't there anymore and the war memorial may have been relocated.   Sorry to sound so pessimistic.
Please post a note if you find out where it is, I'd be very interested coming from Hampshire with strong roots in Wiltshire.

Good luck.

Have you tried scanning the pic. with a higher resolution?  Limit the scan to the memorial itself then somebody's photo software just might help to make out some of the writing.

Following a suggestion from another list I listed the photograph on the Sussex listing and someone there suggested that it was at Longstock between Stockbridge and Andover in Hampshire and indeed it was as the attached picture shows.
