Is hospital patient information possible?
« on: Saturday 28 February 09 18:32 UTC (UK) »

I was wondering  if medical records for deceased person is possible?

I am probably turning over stones that I should leave unturned and opening doors that maybe should be left closed in my family but I am trying to find out why my grandfather spent time in Sedgefield Mental Hospital in 1933-34. I suspect it was what we now call post traumatic stress disorder.

Many thanks. I shall write to them and see what they say.....not sure I can wait until the 100 years are up though! Smiley

I am not sure if it makes any difference that he didn't actually die in Winterton though. He died two years after being released from there.

Only just seen this entry. I too am looking for info on my dads uncle who spent time at Sedgefield and possibly died there after a motorbike accident caused brain damage. No idea even what date this was but probably between 1901 (when he was 21)  and 1925 when his father died, who, according to a family member, visited him.
I would be interested to know if you were able to get the info you were after
