I am looking for Samuel Kendall
He is the father of Elizabeth Mabel
He was a coal miner according to marriage cert
I have found the family in 1901 in Iron Acton
He is named as Samuel J Kindall born 1851 Mangotsfield whereas Elizabeth is a Kendall
I can find him as a Kendall in 1891 bn 1851Kingswood  and found him again in1881 born 1843 as Samuel Kendall but cant find him before this time  He is names as Samuel Jonathan Kendall on marriage cert Any ideas

happened to be using 1861 - seen this ?

I suppose the best bet is to get his marriage cert then I will know his fathers name

click on both Births & Deaths (hold down CTRL key) in FreeBMD for Keynsham - theres an 1849 death ...


anyways - yes in the absence of Kendalls in the 1851, I'd say get that Cert ....

I'm wondering if he was under a stepfathers name in earlier census, and reverted to his own name on marriage ?
