Hi Tariana

I found the following on the 1870 Maryland US census

Fisher, John, 44, Male, White, Miner, born Scotland

            Christine/a, female, white,at home,7, born Maryland
John, male, white, 3, at home, born Maryland.

Maryland, Alleghany County, Loncaconing P.O.
Election District: 16. taken 8 July 1870

In 1860, though the ages differ, I found:

FISHER

Mary, female, White, age 25, born Scotland
James, male, white, age 2, born Maryland

I also looked at US 1900 census...No John or Mary but found the following for James G. Fisher

FISHER
James G., Head, Male, White, born Sept 1858,41, b Maryland, married 9 years, both Parents born Scotland. Occupation: Coal Miner.

Julia A. wife, born June 1864, 35, b, Maryland, both parents born Germany, married 9 years, mother to 1

thanks. I need info on John and Mary's parents. Are there any Scottish census records, from before 1870? I know Mary Douglas was born in Glasgow. Lan-something county. (I'm not from Scotland). She would have been born somewhere around 1820.

sorry
I don't know about Scotland census records.
Perhaps if you search and post on the Scotland boards with in Roots chat, someone will be able to assist.
