Also have found:
Elspet SPENCE b: abt 1672 in Orkney who married Georg SINCLAIR 21 Dec 1693 in Kirkwall, Orkney.
Their children were:
1. Mitchell Sinclair b: 13 Oct 1694 in Kirkwall & St Ola, Orkney
2. William Sinclair b: bef. 19 Mar 1699 in Kirkwall & St. Ola
3. Margret Sinclair b: 5 Feb. 1701 on Kirkwall & St. Ola.
Is anyone connected to any of the above or know any thing at all about them plse.
Who were Elspet's parents & siblings I wonder.

The only Elspet Spence I can find around that date is Elspet Spence daughter of Oliver Spens, Birsay. Siblings are: George Nov 1662, Jonet ( female ) 3/5/1660, Marjorie 4/10/1657 and Robert 20/7/1665 all in Birsay. No way of knowing if they are the ones you are looking for

Elspet Spence was my GGGGGGGG Grandmother.
I think you have as far as I have got. She married George Sinclair, 3 children, Margaret, Mitchell and William19/3/1699.
William married Kathleen Johnston and had 3 children- Barbara 1732, George 1734 and Jean 1735 . Jean married Peter Shearer and so on- my branch is directly down through the shearers.
Where do you fit in, you seem to be researching the same people I am. Any more on Elspet Spence?

Yes we are connected through our Stronsay SHEARERS...Elspet Spence?.... will have a looksee for you & post on http://ancestralsearch.proboards.com/index.cgi which I believe you are now a member of. There is quite a lot on there about peoples from Orkney Islands.
