Does one have to be a paid up member of Ancestry.com to be able to see the census records? I was, but am trying to rein in the costs so have dropped membership - now I don't seem to be able to access even the records I saved to my personal trees. maybe I'll have to rejoin!
I believe you do have to have paid membership to view the census images. I usually save them onto my computer so I always have them to hand. I do this with scotlandspeople as well. That way if you lose them from one source then there is always a back up.
As a member of Ancestry.co.uk I thought when I downloaded my file from their database onto Family Tree Maker software (which is Ancestry's software) the census records saved with individuals on the tree would download too but they don't. I have had to reinstall them all.
