Hi Tracy
You can check the outbound UK to NY passenger list yourself for free at: http://www.ellisisland.org/
Free to search, and once registered (free) you can view the actual manifest.
Sabina CONWAY age 30, single, clerk, born Oldham, England and travelling to New York out of Liverpool - arriving NY on 17 Jul 1920 on the ship "Celtic". She was the daughter of Michael CONWAY of 181 Coppice Street, Oldham. She paid her own fare but did not have a ticket to her final destination, Philadelphia. She had $80 when she arrived in NY. She was going to the US permanently and to her uncle, of Floyd St, Germantown, Philadelphia US and had never been to US before. The uncle may have been John KILCOYNE, his name is written by hand above the line re: uncle which is typewritten. She was in good health and 5' 3&half " tall with a fair complexion, brown hair & grey eyes.

Ellis Island has a number of John KILCOYNE's going to the US. One is:
John KILCOYNE and 35 yrs & 10 mnths, born Oldham, single, last resident in Oldham, England - arrived New York 27 Aug 1919 on the ship "Carmania". He was an Accountant heading for Brooklyn New York. The British Government paid for his fare. His father is listed as John KILCOYNE of 97 Horsedge St, Oldham. He had previously been to NY 4& half years before, I think his contact in US is Arthur Young, of 21 Broadway (is that an accountancy firm in NY??). He is intending to stay in US permanently. He is in good helath, 5'7" tall, dark complexion, brown hair and dark eyes with a scar on his forehead.
Hi Tracey
No, the Philadelphia lists are completely separate from NY ones. Perhaps she returned to the US after the 1933 trip, and took a ship directly to her 'home' port of Philadelphia.....

On Ellis Island, it looks like your John made a number of trips up to 1924 over the Atlantic! (the cut off year for Ellis Island database). Have fun searching thru them all
Also, looks like his father John KILCOYNE snr, made a trip in May 1920 also on the ship Carmania. The Database indexed him as 5 yrs - but the manifest is that of an adult - the 2nd digit of his age is faded may be aged 58??. He is a widower and a school attendance Officer. His UK contact is Catherine KILCOYNE of 97 Horridge St Oldham
