census lookup please Watson/Buchanan

I can't find them in the census.
William WATSON (born ?) who mar. Helen BUCHANAN on the 6 Jul 1835 at Abbey Paisley Renfrewshire. I have Helen born abt 1818 and died 18 Jan 1870 at Thorn, Refrewshire. I have only 2 children on record:
James Abt 1844 Johnstone Renfrewshire Scotland & died 13 Oct 1873  Johnstone Renfrewshire
Jane abt 1848 Johnstone Renfrewshire. Have no death date.(This is my line)(Jane mar. William SPEIRS in Paisley 29 Apr 1870).
There seems to be a distance between marriage date & James's birth so don't know if any other children in between. Seems a small family for those days.

1851 for Thorn - transcription only - to view image you would have to buy credits on Scotlands People

All b Abbey Renfrewshire.  Address is just shown as Overton

That cetainly looks like the family Carole. William & Hellen were mar. in 41 so I wonder why she would have used her maiden name (Buchanan). I can understand the Ellen for (Helen). Did it show them as visitors or lodgers at this house? with Janet STEEL & Robert POLLOCK.

Hi

The 1841 does not show relationships or actual birthplaces.  Also - ages from 16yrs onwards were rounded down to the nearest 5yrs

The 1851 does not show whether Helen was a widow on the transcription so you would need to view the full image on SP.  However - given she had an occupation I would say it's odds on that William had died

Here is the 1861 for Johnstone with a wide variation in Helen's age.  Address: Thorn P Sched Thorn Faulds Ld
