Fab, so they married between 1889 and 1920 then.

There is a death in 1922, Ontario Canada for a John Henry Stier. Could that be your guy??

Make that 1891 and 1920  Cheesy - John Dobb Pool & Martha are together on the 1891 census.

Are they together in 1901? Or, even better, in 1911?

I think John Henry was married to the Mary Jane Stier whose death I found earlier. They appear on the 1891 census in York, her age is 30. His occupation is Skin Cleaner, fur, which can't be too uncommon for a butcher. My guess is that the Mary Jane Stier who witnessed Martha's  marriage is her step daughter.

Obviously all guesses!! But it seems to fit!

Do a search on the 1911 site for Stier and residence York and you will see them!!

Also in the household with Martha and  John Henry (born 1856) are Lily born 1896 and Mary Jane born 1897.

Think it is to Blanche Sunman as there are also 2 births in the years shortly after with mother's surname as Sunman.

There is another marriage in 1907 in York, but no Martha there either!

There is a tree on ancestry with John Henry and Martha Kemp! It has John as arriving in Canada in 1914!

If you could view a transcript of the 1911 census it would tell you how many years they've been married which would help narrow it down!!
