mystery wrought iron gates... help please

Hi,

I would be very grateful if any of you Durham chaps can help solve my mystery.

My GG Grandfather was a colliery blacksmith and was born, lived and worked at Houghton Le Spring.  At some stage in his life he made what family folk law calls a "very posh" pair of gates for a large estate somewhere close to Houghton.

Just wonder if any of you can offer any suggestions, or maybe have notice gates  matching this vague description.... heres hoping!

Hi Copperbeech

Lord Lambtons Estate is a very large estate not to far from Houghton-Le-Spring. There are a rather grand pair of gates.
