Hi all, im doing quite well on my family tree so far, just starting to do the branches of the inlaws etc now,my g g grandfathers, mother and father in law, who are Patrick Fisher b:c 1817 in co.monaghan ireland, d:05/10/1881 in Aitkenhead,Bothwell Scotland, His Wife Catherine Smith,B:c1816 also in co.monaghan ireland, after she had Ann my g g grandmother she dissappears, would like help in finding there parents also what happened to Catherine? Patrick died a widower 1881, my gg grand mother was born 1855 in renfrew, other than that no idea what happened, hope some 1 can help. ive searched absolutley every were? many thanks Rob mullen. Welcome to Rootschat. Irish records are different from those in Scotland and to trace the family in Co. Monaghan you'll need to know where they lived here (parish if not townland not just 'Co. Monaghan') as well as their religion. Once you know that information the next step is to see if church records exist for the correct period and if you can find the family in them.
Have you searched in Scottish deaths (Scotlnd's People) for a death certificate for Catherine (Smith) Fisher? Waht about census records- have you foud Patrick and his family in each one before his death in 1881?

Hi thanks for reply, ive only got 2 census records for patrick and family, they are roman catholic, weird thing is Ann  there daughter was married 3 times, my gg grandfather being the 1st, thing is her  mother is catherine smith on 1st marriage, 2nd is another woman and 3rd is her mother again,i was ok till i hit this part of the family lol.. Ann having 'different' mothers might be explained if her mother died when she was young and father remarried (or she was raised by someone else). Have  you searched for Catherine's death in Scotland?

'Lisbon, Co. Down' is most likely Lisburn- so suggest posting a query on Co. Down board after you've checked Ros Davies' website to see if there's any information:

Hi yeah searched all records, got 1 cert of a catherine fisher death 1874, but cant read it,all i can make out is age 29, but on records were i downloaded it it stated age 50, thought i had her,
